After studying all available information concerning the Vattanian symbol alphabet, I put together this perl script translator, that will allow you to input your own language, be it English, Spanish, German, Italian, etc. and immediately see the output printed out in Vattanian.   Just fill in the form below, up to the 240 character counter, and see your results in a flash. In the case of certain letters of the alphabet that do not exist in Vattanian, I have come up with what I feel is a reasonable formula, which I detail below. My research into a possible modern alphabet using Vattanian symbols showed a lack of corresponding letters between English or other European languages and the Vattanian symbols that are available.

(1) Specifically, the letters f,i,j,q,u,w and x do not exist in Vattanian, as we know it.

(2) Some ligatures, also called digraphs, (ou, ts, sh, th) exist in Vattanian and not in English.

I decided to use Ancient Devanagari Sanskrit to fill in the gaps. This early language was probably developed from Vattanian roots, and thus is a good 'fit' to what is needed to fill in the missing letters so we can print in that alphabet.

For the Punctuation Characters, I simply chose a symbol that closely resembled the punctuation mark.

For the rest of the alphabet, and the numbers from zero to nine, I used the actual letters.

I have no formal training as a linguist and I do not put myself forth as any type of expert in languages.   I simply saw a need for some type of alphabet and finding nothing available on the net, I took on the challenge to help the general public.
